Product configurators for your products ... individually programmed for your company

Customised product configurators from RLS

RLS specialises in the design and programming of individual configurators for companies. The solutions are optimised for the respective customer requirements and subsequent use. We support and advise you from the initial idea through to complete implementation - including training and further development.

This means you get a system that is perfectly customised to your company and can be expanded as required. The system grows with your requirements.

In addition to the complete website, the impressive configurator was also programmed for Duscholux. Click on Configurator and try it out for yourself. Here, the customer receives a preview of their customised shower in just a few steps. A particular added value is that 3D modelsare created and displayedlive during the configuration process.
"This was a technically very demanding requirement for the product configurator. The result speaks for itself," says Frank Stengel, Head of IT at RLS.

The 3D realisations and graphic representations are also part of the configurator. Certain effects, such as frosted or darkened glass, are also generated in real time. Images on the shower walls can also be changed. An image that is located on the shower wall and is covered by frosted glass is also immediately displayed in frosted form at the image location. As a result, the customer receives a PDF and a code with the configuration created. A particular challenge here was the connection via an interface to the customer's internal PIM system.

    • Your personal product configurator from RLS

RLS has many years of experience in the conception, design, implementation, provision, support and further development of configurators of all kinds under one roof. The entire development of the configurator is realised by our experienced in-house team, from the initial concept to implementation and possible further development in the future.

    • Concept for your product configurator

We work with our customers to develop an optimised concept for the configurator in order to guide the customer to their desired configuration in the best and most convenient way possible. In doing so, we respond individually to the circumstances and requirements. The customer does not receive an "off-the-shelf" configurator from us, but a configurator that is optimally customised to the area of application.

    • Design of your product configurator

In order to offer a coherent overall product, we create a design tailored to the customer and the project using our in-house designers. Thanks to their many years of experience and communication within the team, our designers ensure optimum user-friendliness right from the design concept stage. The design is also created in the customer's individual corporate design and, of course, with a modern and aesthetically pleasing effect in mind.

    • Realisation and programming of the product configurator

Thanks to our many years of experience and in-house developments, we have a solid repertoire of employees and tools that are optimally prepared for the configurator in order to implement it professionally, effectively and quickly. You receive a professional and secure product customised for you without excessive project runtimes and unmanageable costs.

    • Provision of your finished product configurator

The configurator can be installed either on a server managed by us or on your own server. The server and configurator are set up by our dedicated administrators. We also offer set-up and implementation support for a customer's own server. Of course, our work does not end after the initial setup - we ensure that the server remains maintained and functional. The server is also provided with regular updates to ensure that it remains secure in the future.

    • Support for configurators:

The customer can reach a competent contact person at RLS at any time. Whether it's problems with product maintenance, server problems, technical problems or general advice on new possibilities and ideas - we are there for you!

    • Further development for configurators:

Your company may have additional products or new configuration options in a few years' time. The modular and adaptable design of our configurators allows for expansion and/or changes in the future without having to start from scratch.

Possible applications of product configurators

    • Product configurator as selection assistant

For a large selection of items, a product configurator (or in this case the smaller version as a "selection assistant") is ideal for guiding your customers directly to the products they want. Your customers can access their desired products quickly and directly via prepared, targeted filters. In particular, customers do not have to deal with a large number of articles in order to identify the differences. Instead, customers can focus directly on the most important features. Depending on the situation, the selection can be made using a fixed sequence or a free selection of filters. After the selection process, the customer is directed to their target product or to an overview of the remaining, very limited selection of target products.

        • Examples of possible areas of application:

Typically all types of shops - for example, a clothing shop is much more convenient if it is divided into categories, colours, sizes etc.. Even better if these can be combined to simplify the search.
In general, configurators are suitable for all companies with a large product range - the type of products can be almost arbitrary.Examples:

  • Cars
  • Electrical appliances
  • Clothing
  • Toys
  • Stationery
  • Office supplies
  • Furniture
  • Printed products
  • Watches
  • Metal carrier
  • Production machinery....

Fully-fledged configurator:

For dynamic articles, a configurator is ideal for configuring the product according to the customer's wishes. The customer is conveniently guided through the configuration process with supporting instructions and help. The configuration is divided into simple steps that are easy to follow and, in particular, do not require an overall understanding of the hidden complexity of the product as a whole. At each stage, the focus is on a specific feature that the customer can focus on and is offered direct, topic-related assistance. As a result, the customer does not feel overwhelmed or uncomfortable and is able to configure their desired product more quickly and easily. The configurator directly excludes invalid or impossible configurations. This prevents frustration on the part of the customer and also the need for additional support from the provider, who would have to process an invalid product enquiry retrospectively. In addition to the configuration, a preview image can clearly visualise the current configuration in each step. With our layer-based CGI technology, we can generate a realistic and detailed 3D visualisation for each configuration step. The customer can therefore see the effects of their selection directly as a real image. Of course, an abstract schematic representation or a combination of both is also possible.

        • Examples of possible areas of application:

Suppliers of dynamic products that can be customised or individualised. This applies to all products that are not "off the shelf" or that allow individual customisations such as engravings, inscriptions, structural modifications, etc. Examples:

  • Cars
  • Lifts
  • Machines (of all kinds)
  • Catalogue compilations (e.g. also with PDF generators)
  • Showers
  • Furniture
  • Insurances
  • Contracts (of all kinds)
  • Text generators (optionally also with PDF)

Productless "configurations" of highly customisable "processes" are also conceivable, e.g. for:

  • individualised services
  • Event planning
  • Repairs
  • Building contracts
  • Design instructions

Of course, a combination of the two types is also possible without any problems.
